A quarterly awards program honoring five inspiring qualities in five team members.

Culture is defined by what we high five each other for.

So we chose to high five the most innovative individuals in Consumer Growth Marketing at Verizon Media Group.

Red Shoe (the risk-taker)
When someone asks you to get a black shoe, this person goes and gets 2 black shoes, and also returns with a red one. And while not every red shoe fits, when it does it shines. Regardless of whether or not they achieved their goal at first, this person took a risk and went after it.

Experimenter
This problem solver finds insights in mountains of data. They aren’t afraid to test assumptions and celebrates the process of experimentation. They are observant, open-minded and curious. They push others to challenge the status quo while enabling their teams with savvy strategies.

Unsung Hero
This person is a rockstar and doesn’t even know it. They come through for the team, often without recognition or any desire for it. They work diligently and consistently, though many might not realize their contribution to the whole.

Heart
The empathy and kindness inside this person are infectious. This person is a cultural ambassador and puts others first. They live by the golden rule—treating others how they want to be treated—and inspire others to do the same.

Collaborator
Everyone brings something to the table, and this person sees that. Even in a communication company, talking with people across walls is exemplary. They proactively seek to work across teams and are a joy to work with.

The High Five Awards — a celebration of those who push ideas further, aren’t afraid to challenge assumptions, work diligently behind the scenes, show kindness and empathy, and those who bring people together.
